Davidson Plum

Davidson Plum includes two main species - the NSW var. Davidsonia jerseyana and the QLD. Var. Davidsonia pruriens.

Davidson Plums are a rainforest fruit growing in Northern NSW and Queensland. It is a small slender tree, bearing the fruit along the trunk. This unique-to-Australia fruit has been an important food source for Indigenous Australians and has established itself as a mainstay of modern Australian Cuisine.

There is a sustainable cultivated supply year round as a frozen product.

Uses: The Davidson Plum have a rich burgundy colour and a strong tangy/acidic flavour. This makes this native plum very useful as a base for savoury and sweet sauces and desserts.

Similar to: Satsuma Plum, only more flavoursome
